hey everyone,

i haven't been living in melbourne for very long, and i don't know much of the surrounding areas. but i was just wondering if anyone could tell me where there are any woods/forests i could photograph in? they don't need to be acres of woods or anything, it can be a small area. if you know of anywhere, please tell me! thankyou in advanced!

hi hana, i haven't been to this community for a while, have been a bit absorbed with flickr rather than LJ these days, so sorry for a late reply and you may already have gotten an answer to your question by now.

i don't know of any really without going out of melbourne, although there might be some parks about the place within melbourne that have small wooded areas - maybe jells park sort of place?

the dandenongs are beautiful but hard to get off the road into areas where you can photograph.

a lot of the best areas are national parks where it is not really approved of to go off the roads or walking tracks and too many tourists if you're looking to take unusual portraits in them (which is usually my idea :P), but i recently went out of town in search of just that and ended up in wombat national park near trentham near the midland and hume highways. if you can get past the areas where people live and that are clearly fenced off, etc., you can find some nice areas.

i guess it depends what you're wanting to shoot - the woods / forest itself, or people in those environments.
